Our Vision

What we are visioning to achieve

Why are we building the Umiverse?

The purpose of building the Umiverse is to establish a bustling online hub for anime fans. It offers a diverse selection of games ranging from indie to triple AAA, catering to various production levels. Additionally, it provides developers with opportunities to engage closely with their player community, enabling them to customize games based on player feedback through dedicated channels. Moreover, Umiverse is designed to be inclusive, welcoming both crypto and non-crypto players with its user-friendly interface.

What are the current issues with the Web3 Gaming Space?

(1) Limited gameplay depth:

Most crypto games lack immersive gameplay experiences, often resembling DeFi prototypes with different narratives and tokens. These games prioritize community operations and marketing over enriching gameplay. While some, like Axie Infinity, attract players with the 'play to earn' concept, many players still prefer traditional gaming platforms like Steam, PS5, or Switch for entertainment value and gameplay fun.

(2) Overemphasis on monetary incentives:

Crypto games heavily rely on tokens to represent game assets, leading players to invest with the expectation of earning profits. However, this focus on monetary gains can overshadow the actual gameplay experience. Fluctuations in token prices can significantly influence player perception, potentially leading to player abandonment if the game's economy collapses.

(3) High entry barriers:

Initial crypto games targeted crypto-native players, creating a steep learning curve for newcomers. Players had to familiarize themselves with crypto wallets, NFTs, and other complex concepts, deterring many potential players. While newer games offer free entry for non-crypto players, the experience remains suboptimal. The process of navigating wallets, security measures, and crypto transactions can be daunting for those unfamiliar with the crypto space.

(4) Neglecting community consensus:

Many crypto games overlook the importance of building a shared gameplay experience and community consensus. Despite the fertile ground crypto provides for community building, these games often fail to leverage this aspect effectively.

What are the benefits of using the Umiverse?

  1. For Players

Players are drawn to Umiverse because it offers a convenient hub for all Anime games, sparing them the inconvenience of navigating multiple platforms. The straightforward sign-up process and smooth game access remove obstacles for both crypto and non-crypto players. As the games onboarded are developed by established game developers, they boast complexity and depth tailored to gaming enthusiasts. Meanwhile, Umiverse is designed to maintain a balanced economy for each game through the "Dive Point" system.

  1. For Developers

Using our "Conversion SDK suite," developers can seamlessly transition their games into Web3 experiences with our user-friendly REST APIs. Through our "Developer Game Console," they efficiently manage game profiles, handling tasks such as uploading, minting, and distributing NFTs to players or the marketplace. Moreover, developers oversee wallet management, prize distribution, and the configuration of "Dive Point" missions and campaigns. With "Dive Point" distributions exclusively in-game, developers can expect enhanced player retention.

  1. for Creators

Games are a way of expanding and monetizing a creator’s “intellectual property” (IP) Umiverse is able to bridge creators of all sizes to game studios to create IP games. If a game looks promising, we would even consider co-publishing the game.

Crossing the “Virtual” Border

Umiverse aims to become the first Web3 anime gaming platform to bridge the gap between virtual and real-life trading by introducing a marketplace for tangible items. Catering to the passionate "Otaku" community, we plan to offer real-life collectibles as NFTs in the future, ensuring merchandise is sent only when an NFT is claimed.

Additionally, our future plans include hosting offline events like "Cinema Nights" for Umiverse members, providing access to exclusive anime showings at local theaters for community members of a certain level.
